English Touring Opera returns to Garsington after 2025’s Little Terror with Mimi and the Golden Touch, a fun-filled new family opera about friendship, fitting in and the power of being yourself. Co-created with students at Briarwood School in Bristol, Mimi and the Golden Touch is a retelling of the Greek myth of King Midas for families and Learning Disabled audiences.
Mimi is lonely.
Everyone at her school has something unique that expresses who they are: soft lemur tails or beautiful golden wings. Everyone, that is, apart from Mimi. Until one day, she meets Sonni and the most incredible thing happens… she sprouts donkey ears!
Overjoyed with her new friend, Mimi sets off on a quest around the school to become as cool as she can. But as she’s drawn into all things shiny, she discovers that being popular isn’t all that it seems.
The café will be open, serving a delicious selection of teas, coffees, and freshly baked cakes.
Tickets:
Adult – £10
Under 18 – £10
