Christian Tetzlaff conjures brilliant colour and ecstatic passion from Szymanowski's First Violin concerto in Ghent.

A rewarding visit from this Japanese orchestra under principal conductor Sebastian Weigle featured a fine Rachmaninov Second Symphony and a vivid, gusty Beethoven Violin Concerto from soloist Christian Tetzlaff.

Withdrawing from an eight-city tour, including an appearance at Carnegie Hall, in an interview the German violinist said: “I feel utter anger. I cannot go on with this feeling inside.”
