Earl Cowper's Italian version of Alexander's Feast kickstarts this year's “Italian" Handel Festival in the composer's birthplace. 

A post post-modern production of Berenice threw distraction upon distraction at the audience, but was saved by good singing and orchestral playing.

Jephtha at the Halle Handel Festival subverts the text, and provides little in the way of dramatic or musical compensation.
