A promising new tenor debuts in Adelaide’s State Opera of South Australia’s The Magic Flute, being performed in the heritage listed Great Hall of a historic Masonic Lodge.

State Opera of South Australia is performing two short pieces, Mozart’s Bastien und Bastienne and the even rarer Offenbach’s La chanson de Fortunio, showcasing several developing young artists.

Emerging artists to the fore as each of these two-handers engage us in differing exposés of puzzles, one comic, one tragic.

This has been a stunning production of Satyagraha, which delivers a rich spiritual, almost transcendental, experience, concluding a remarkable triple performance of Philip Glass’ portrait operas.
