Performer: Sol Gabetta

Rouvali and the Philharmonia dazzle with sunlit Tchaikovsky, intense Shostakovich and Say’s imaginative textures, while Gabetta’s physical, lyrical cello brings immediacy to an evening of virtuosity, warmth and playful energy.

Franck conducts Franck! In Antwerp Mikko Franck and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France play the Symphony in D minor and are joined by Sol Gabetta for Lalo. 

Four very pictographic pieces: from early Puccini, through Dukas and Stravinsky to the present-day Spanish composer Francisco Coll. Neatly painted by the performers and with nothing to unduly scare the horses.
