While there is no strict dress code at the Opera House, it is customary to dress elegantly as a sign of respect for the venue and the performance. Many patrons choose to dress up, but it is not mandatory.
Business casual attire is generally acceptable.
The auditorium of the Opera House is air-conditioned.
Opera Bistro
The newly opened Opera Bistro on the ground floor, offering a selection of sandwiches, salads, antipasti, desserts and drinks, is open Tuesday to Sunday 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. You can pre-order refreshments for intervals.
Feszty Bar
The grand bar on level 1 is open before the performance and during intervals. You can pre-order refreshments for intervals.
Boxes
Ticket holders of boxes may order their refreshments directly to their boxes.

Surtitles over the stage are offered in Hungarian and English, which can also be accessed on built in screen in front of the seats or the armrests. The personal subtitle pads also offers the original language of the performance.
In 2021, a further venue of the Hungarian State Opera was opened. The Eiffel Art Studios is a brand-new logistic and artistic hub which now houses all the workshops. There is a multifunctional chamber theatre, a state-of-the-art recording studio, as well as various rehearsal spaces for opera, ballet, and orchestra.
The complex is open to the general public. Its chamber theatre, the Miklós Bánffy Stage, awaits fans of experimental performances, contemporary operas, modern dance productions, and youth programmes.

By car: Access is via the main gate, next to the bus and tram stops. There are 90 parking slots available in our own car park, which can be used for free with ticket to the performance. Free parking is also available next to Kőbányai út.
