Our main auditorium, the Golden Hall (Großer Musikvereinssaal), has 1,744 seats plus approximately 200 standing places. The Brahms Hall seats approximately 600 people. Our smaller halls include the “Gläserner Saal / Magna Auditorium” (Glass Hall, up to 350 seated), “Metallener Saal” (Metal Hall,126) and “Steinerner Saal / Horst Haschek Auditorium (Stone Hall, 70).
Public transport is the easiest way to reach the Musikverein. The closest underground station is Karlsplatz (U1, U2 and U4), a few minutes’ walk away. Nearby tram/bus stops include Oper/Karlsplatz (trams 1, 2 and 62; bus 59A) and Schwarzenbergplatz (trams D and 71).
Several public underground car parks are nearby, including Garage Opernringhof, Kärntnerstraße Tiefgarage and Kärntnerring-Garage, approximately 5–10 minutes’ walk from the Musikverein. We generally recommend public transport.
There is no full-service public restaurant inside the Musikverein. Gerstner Catering operates our bars and buffets, where drinks and refreshments are available before performances and during intervals. Interval refreshments can also be pre-ordered. The Musikverein does not operate as a late-night bar after concerts, so we recommend visiting one of the nearby restaurants, cafés or hotel bars for an after-concert drink.
Three nearby restaurants we recommend are Gmoakeller, Meissl & Schadn and Rote Bar at Hotel Sacher. For a full dinner, we recommend eating before the performance, as kitchen opening times vary and some restaurants may have stopped serving food when an evening concert finishes.
The Musikverein is wheelchair accessible. A ramp is available at the right-hand side of the main entrance, and the building has lifts and accessible toilets. Wheelchair spaces are available in our concert halls.

Assistance dogs are welcome when registered in advance. For hearing, visual or other accessibility requirements, we recommend contacting our ticket office in advance so that we can advise on the facilities available for the individual concert and hall.
We offer an extensive programme for children and families, including concerts for babies and young children. We do not operate a regular childcare or crèche service, and children remain under the supervision of an accompanying adult.
We would be delighted if you attended our concerts and events in festive attire appropriate to the occasion. A visit to the Musikverein should be something special. Sweatpants and tracksuit bottoms are perfect for sports, but not for the Musikverein.
