Work: Images, for orchestra

Jonathan Nott and the OSR bring surgical precision to Debussy’s vivid sketches, while Khatia Buniatishvili’s Brahms evokes the soulful, improvisational warmth of a pre-war piano legend at the Elbphilharmonie. 

Hans Graf conducts Debussy's Images to close a gala concert featuring the Singapore debut of the great Russian pianist. 

Playing works inspired by folk tunes from Romania, Hungary, France, Spain and England, Rattle pulled off a convincing performance, with Kavakos producing a strong Brahms concerto.
