Work: String symphony no. 7 in D minor

An eclectic line-up in Prague's Rudolfinum offers surprises and a surfeit of talent.

Familiar works by Bach, Handel and Corelli were enhanced by a fine performance of Mendelssohn's rarely played String Symphony no. 7.

A varied, interesting programme was offered to the Zurich audience, with Emőke Baráth shining in two Baroque cantatas and Daniel Hope leading the orchestra from the violin.
