Ali Smith | Reciter |
New European Ensemble loves to tell musical stories in combination with film, literature, theatre or dance. For this concert, four female composers have composed new music inspired by the four novels Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer by the internationally acclaimed Scottish author Ali Smith. Smith explores her personal reality in her books, addressing issues such as Brexit, climate change, migration and feminism. The author will read selections from her work during the performance.
The four composers share a multidisciplinary and pioneering approach to music. This vision aligns with the New European Ensemble’s aim to ‘reflect, challenge, inspire, and deepen our understanding of human experience and our environment through the communicative power of new music’.
