A musical homage to Philippe Boesmans (1936–2022), one of the most original and expressive voices in Belgian music. As former composer-in-residence at La Monnaie and a master of dramatic tension, Boesmans created a body of work that is both layered and accessible, refined yet deeply human.
At the heart of the programme is Fin de nuit—a delicate, personal piece composed during the summer of 2017 in a hotel room, shaped by memories of youth and a lingering sense of melancholy. From silence emerges a world of subtle contrasts, with pianist Julien Libeer guiding us through its shifting light and shadow.
