Two magnificent works, both of which deserve to be much better known, supply the rich substance of this lunchtime recital from artists armed with the attributes necessary to unleash their full expressive variety. The Leonore Piano Trio, praised by The Strad for its ‘soaring potency and impassioned eloquence’, is joined by Lawrence Power, hailed by BBC Music Magazine as ‘Britain’s greatest living viola player, the true successor to Lionel Tertis and William Primrose’.
