During the festive annual gala, Klaus Mäkelä conducts two highlights from the symphonic repertoire. The Violin Concerto by his compatriot Sibelius, with Lisa Batiashvili as soloist, is followed by Beethoven's indestructible Seventh Symphony. The Concertgebouw Orchestra’s grand Annual Gala begins with a reception at 7.30 p.m. After the gala concert, all are welcome in the foyers of the Concertgebouw to mix and mingle, meet the musicians and enjoy the afterparty until midnight.
