The young Austrian mezzo-soprano Anja Mittermüller, accompanied by her regular duo partner Richard Fu, became the youngest ever winner of the Wigmore Hall/Bollinger International Song Competition in 2024, propelled to victory by performances hailed by Opera Today for their beautiful legato and excellent diction. Her latest programme contains space for gems by Chopin, including his exquisite Życzenie, wonderfully evocative Romantic Lieder and tender-hearted songs by Schubert.
