A concert weaving together some of the most striking baroque violin and continuo sonatas. Heinrich Biber’s remarkable sonatas on each of the 15 Mysteries of the Rosary were dedicated to his employer, the Prince-Archbishop of Salzburg. Probably written in the 1670s they were virtually unknown until their publication in 1905. Performed by four musicians well-known for their sensitive readings of baroque music, this is a rare opportunity to hear several from the set, paired with popular sonatas of the period by Handel and J.S. Bach.
