Joceyln Morlock’s Golden induces a ritual immersion inspired by a swimming hole in Manitoba, where ‘fool’s gold’ conjures bathers being washed in liquid gold. Bright Travellers sets Fiona Benson’s unflinchingly direct, funny and painfully emotive poems on motherhood. In Strauss’s Death and Transfiguration, life yields to death as existence transcends its earthly state, completing the human experience.
