To launch Baroque Month at Bachtrack with a little fun, here is an aria from Handel’s opera Giulio Cesare, splicing together performances by six singers. In Act III Cleopatra sings the aria “Da tempeste il legno infranto” to express her joy at Cesare’s return. The question is – can you identify the six singers? Apologies for the abrupt pitch changes - it makes you realise just how much Baroque pitch has lurched over recent decades!
