Singing moves people: that’s why we’re once again cordially inviting anyone interested to join us in creating an unforgettable experience. The audience becomes a huge vocal ensemble, and it doesn’t matter at all whether you have previous choir experience, prefer to join in with impromptu pub sing-alongs – or just croon along in the car or under the shower. This event is simply about giving oneself over to the music with the collective power of our voices, simply enjoying the exceptional experience and taking the energy and happy feelings home with you afterwards. So anyone can become part of a huge community of well over 1,000 singers – led from the conductor’s podium by Howard Arman, whose friendly and tongue-in-cheek manner ensures the artistic finesse and togetherness. The Bamberg Symphony and the professionals from the Bavarian Radio Choir support the excited crowd. The programme is put together on the spot in only one day and performed that same evening. In keeping with All Souls’ Day, this year’s sing-along concert centres on one of the most touching compositions: In this Requiem by Mozart, left unfinished in 1791, sublime beauty meets dramatic intensity. It is sure to be a moving event – after all, the composer once so poignantly said: »Without music, everything would be nothing.«
