Once upon a time… a practical joker causes mayhem in medieval Germany: you’ll hear every bang, crash and giggle in Strauss’s outrageous Till Eulenspiegel. Exiled and ill, Béla Bartók looks into his soul and finds a roof-raising shout of joy in his irresistibly colourful Concerto for Orchestra. And the 25-year-old Beethoven is a man in a hurry, out to make a serious splash. With Juraj Valčuha and Evgeni Bozhanov, two of the hottest properties on the European concert scene, both making their Liverpool debuts, you are in for a treat.
