Dates/times in London time zone

Víkingur Ólafsson is the sensational pianist from Iceland who can make music either melt like ice or glow like lava. ‘Everyone knows how to listen to music, just like we know how to drink water’ says the superstar pianist. ‘You just listen’. He makes it sound so simple – just like his breathtaking performances, it’s as if the music could sound no other way.

Tonight, he joins the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Chief Conductor Domingo Hindoyan to bring you a concert of music-making at its most heartfelt and most profound.

*This concert was originally advertised as 'Domingo Hindoyan and Daniel Barenboim'. However, it is not possible for Maestro Daniel Barenboim to travel abroad in January 2023, and therefore, he cannot play in this concert. We are in the process of finding a rescheduled date with him and and Domingo Hindoyan in a future season. We wish Maestro Barenboim well and look forward to that visit. We are pleased to announce that the exciting internationally renowned Víkingur Ólafsson has made time in his very busy concert diary to take over this concert, in which he will play the Schumann Piano Concerto.
