Oxford Philomusica’s Founder and Music Director, Marios Papadopoulos, makes a welcome return to the keyboard to perform Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 – a work dramatic and delicate in turn, with a gloriously romantic second movement. The programme continues with Bruckner’s Fourth Symphony, which the composer himself christened ‘Romantic’. It was his first great success, and has endured as one of the most popular of all symphonies. This rich and majestic work will give full reign to the orchestra’s talent and guarantees to enthral the audience.
