Experience the depth of Romantic genius in a breathtaking programme that unites Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 1 and Schumann’s Symphony No. 3, ‘Rhenish’, two masterpieces brimming with passion, lyricism, and bold orchestral colour.

The English Chamber Orchestra is one of the world’s leading chamber orchestras, and this is a wonderful opportunity to luxuriate in a performance full of life, verve, and virtuosity.

Award-winning pianist Alon Kariv performs Chopin’s First Piano Concerto, which enchants with its poetic, virtuosic piano lines, soaring over a lush orchestral tapestry.

Under the baton of Principal Guest Conductor Roberto Forés Veses, the ECO also performs Schumann’s Third Symphony. Inspired by the grandeur of the Rhine River, the Symphony flows with vibrant energy and profound emotion. A symphony in five movements, which is uncommon, the fourth ‘Feierlich’ is particularly poignant and is notable for its solemn character – Schumann was inspired in this movement by a religious ceremony at Cologne Cathedral.

Don’t miss what promises to be a glorious afternoon concert celebrating two classics of the romantic canon.
