Thoughtful and intelligent Rachmaninov from Mandeal and the Hallé

Cristian Mandeal returned to the Hallé to direct an intelligent performance of Rachmaninov’s ever popular Second Symphony, with Sofya Gulyak playing Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto no. 3 in C major.
