The menace of Mars, the beauty of Venus, the noble tunes of Jupiter… everyone has their favourite bit of The Planets. But there’s infinitely more to Holst’s masterpiece than just great melodies, and tonight the incredible John Wilson – the conductor whose own orchestra packs out the Proms – brings his special flair to the RSNO in an all-British programme with a difference.
