Weill's Seven Deadly Sins

This listing is in the past
Barbican HallSilk Street, London, Greater London, EC2Y 8DS, United Kingdom
Dates/times in London time zone

A concert celebrating the music of two European émigrés, Erich Wolfgang Korngold and Kurt Weill, who fled to the US in the 1930s.

Korngold’s ultra-romantic Symphony was completed in 1952 and written in memory of President Franklin D Roosevelt. And Kurt Weill’s satirical ballet chanté finds the multi-talented singer, songwriter and actor Storm Large in the role of Anna (coincidentally an alumnus from the same college of Roosevelt). Rarely performed A cappella songs by Weill, Jurmann, and Tiomkin complete the concert, performed by the Hudson Shad Vocal Quartet.
