ln an Italian Garden is a celebration of ltalian lyric works from the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries. The first half of the concert explores subjects of love, beauty, rage, and jealousy in excerpts from operas of Stradella, Vivaldi and Handel, as well as madrigals by contemporaries of Monteverdi. The second half is designed as a play-within-a-play with music by Cimarosa, Porpora, and Haydn.
