Rachmaninoff's Second Piano Concerto is one of the favourite works of Nikola Meeuwsen, the piano virtuoso who was the first Dutchman to win the Queen Elisabeth Competition. Hearing him play this concerto, brimming with unforgettable melodies, is a must. Under its chief conductor Eivind Gullberg Jensen, the North Netherlands Orchestra will also perform Shostakovich's impressive Fifth Symphony.
