Symphonieorchester der Wiener Volksoper

The concert presents the large-scale symphonic choral work with soloists, choir, and orchestra. Its starting point is the Nüwa story from Chinese mythology: After a cataclysmic event, Nüwa renews the sky with five-coloured stones. Musically, the work combines narrative choral scenes, solo parts, and orchestral soundscapes into a concert drama of nature, movement, communal action, and regained light.

The evening is designed as a cultural encounter in concert format: a Chinese story performed with a large vocal-symphonic ensemble in Vienna with the Vienna Volksoper Symphony Orchestra and an international choral framework.
