Irish mezzo-soprano Paula Murrihy and American pianist Tanya Blaich earned praise during the pandemic for their album, I Will Walk With My Love. ‘At a time when many opera singers are out of work and chances to hear the full-throttle human voice in all its glory are few, a new recital disc as good as this one feels more than usually like a treat,’ wrote the Guardian. Their St Patrick’s Day programme includes treasures by John Francis Larchet, music director of Dublin’s Abbey Theatre in its legendary early years, and captivating songs by Ina Boyle, whose works are finally receiving the attention they deserve.
