Three wonderful solo performers, each passionate about chamber music, share the stage this evening to celebrate the infinite expressive scope of melody and the imaginative possibilities of melodic transformation. Their programme includes excerpts from György Kurtág’s Signs, Games and Messages, intense, aphoristic works, pieces recorded by Tabea Zimmermann to critical acclaim, and fresh arrangements of Brahms’s Balladen and Romanzen Op. 75, originally written for alto, tenor and piano.
