Festival: Stockholm Early Music Festival

 June 4 – 9, 2019

It's never too late for early music!

Welcome to the Stockholm Early Music Festival (SEMF) - the largest international event for early music in the Nordic countries!

The festival, founded in 2002 by Peter Pontvik, emphasises on the diversity of early music, offering a fascinating programme of known and repertoire yet to be discovered from the Baroque, Renaissance, and Medioeval times. Its motto: a rich variation and the highest quality. The festival features music from all over the world, featuring well-renowned Swedish and international ensembles and artists like Philippe Jaroussky, Jordi Savall, Les Arts Florissants, Il Giardino Armonico, Andreas Scholl, Philippe Herreweghe, Concentus Musicus Wien, Les Arts Florissants, Ton Koopman, Concerto Copenhagen and the Freiburger Barockorchester.

The events take place in the historical setting of Stockholm’s Old Town, in a unique magic Summer atmosphere in early June. An unforgettable week where you will listen to hundreds of new artists from more than 10 countries every year, performing in more than 30 concerts. The festival offer is addressed to a specialised, as well as to a general audience - adults, young people and children. Seminars, workshops and an instrument exhibition will complete your experience.
