Excellent singing, an amusing production and lively staging showcases Mascagni's Le maschere in the best possible light at Wexford Festival Opera. 

Riccardo Chailly gives a masterful rendition of Rossini’s masterpiece, leading a solid cast in an inspired performance, in Leo Muscato’s new staging. 

Livermore's staging implies two different storylines – do we only see the result of Don Giovanni's hallucinations?

The director presents the story clearly enough, but apart from that, there is not much going for this production.
