A “Sound Unwrapped” programme, featuring Aurora Orchestra's trimmed line-up of five musicians and one sound engineer on electronics, proves to be an absolute success. 

Imaginative programming from Aurora Orchestra, including striking miniatures from Musgrave and Meredith, luxurious Ravel and pared back Vaughan Williams, with joyous Mendelssohn to finish.

A trio of French works launch the English Chamber Orchestra's Sunday afternoon series, filmed in Beckenham Place Mansion.

The concert opened with BBC newsreader Julia Somerville, summarising news from the year 1915 at an old-fashioned broadcasting desk complete with microphone. It was informative, and set the scene for this recital, one in a series of ‘time capsule’ concerts, solely featuring music composed in 1915 – including two of Debussy’s last chamber pieces.
