With Laurent Pelly directing, a very French evening sees a veritable feat of singing from Stéphanie d'Oustrac in La Voix humaine, followed by riotous surrealism in Les Mamelles de Tirésias.

Stephen Unwin's straight direction and some talented young singers from the Royal Academy of Music Opera school made these two works a real treat. 

Dutch National Opera performs Poulenc’s first opera, Les mamelles de Tirésias, as a project of the company’s talent development program... a fun occasion to witness the much lighter “voyou” side of the French composer.

A contrasting Double Bill of classic Purcell and a little-known French absurdist opera by Poulenc provides an entertaining evening of contrasts.

An ultimately disappointing Fauré Requiem gave way to an outrageously funny performance of Poulenc's comic opera Les mamelles de Tirésias with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Ludovic Morlot.

Opera Parallèle combines Kurt Weill's Mahagonny Songspiel and Francis Poulenc's Les Mamelles de Tirésias in a riotous opera-within-an-opera production.

Dans sa tentative de relier les œuvres de Stravinsky et Poulenc, le metteur en scène produit un spectacle déséquilibré, peu convaincant dans Le Rossignol avant de livrer d'irrésistibles Mamelles de Tirésias.

Cette saison, l’Opéra Comique fête ses 300 ans. Intitulé « Si l’Opéra Comique m’était conté », le gala célébrant le tricentenaire de l'institution retraçait son histoire en donnant un aperçu des créations emblématiques du lieu. Une frise chronologique efficace et très bien servie.
