György Vashegyi and the period instrument Orfeo Orchestra impress in an all-Mozart programme in Budapest. 

Sir Roger Norrington's all-Mozart feast was a joyous evening dedicated solely to playing as the composer and his audience would have recognised it. His affable introduction and the OAE's superb playing made a splendid evening.

Two of today’s brightest soloists take on Mozart and Hummel concertos, then come together with the Zurich Chamber Orchestra for Shostakovich.  

It's likely that Mozart never actually heard his Clarinet Concerto performed. That fate, happily, has not been shared by Michael Gordon, who has heard Peter Whelan perform his new bassoon concerto Observations on Air four times this week.
