Septime Webre’s most Glorious Ride of all

The ballet culminates with fouettés, bravura leaps from the oversized ensemble and a rousing finish with all 44 dancers onstage. It was an exuberant end to an intelligent, satisfying production, both of thought and movement.

An exciting London season closes with a glimpse of where ballet is headed, San Francisco style. 

There is a kind of purity to Your Flesh Shall Be a Great Poem, and a very human sense of longing and loss.

Benjamin Freemantle danced the opening solo, gorgeously, in the role of the grandfather as a dreamy young Adonis. 

It’s not about being on the biggest stage that matters, but what you do on any stage at all – dance like there is no-one watching. But, happily in this case, we are.

Pennsylvania Ballet looked very good in this opening show, their first in New York since Angel Corella took over as Artistic Director
