Powerhouse conductor Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla and the Oslo Philharmonic team up with maverick virtuoso Patricia Kopatchinskaja for Stravinsky’s Bach-inspired Violin Concerto – a ferociously demanding work that showcases all the violinist’s signature ‘beauty, passion and imagination’. Shakespeare’s warring families and passionate young lovers come to life in excerpts from Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet, and the concert opens with Norwegian composer Øyvind Torvund’s symphonic poem ‘Forest Morning’ for orchestra and electronics, in which idyllic birdsong is gradually taken over by the sounds of traffic and urban bustle.
Seats from £19.34 to £71.36 (including booking fee*)
