History and literature have made Messiah into a before and after for its composer Georg Friedrich Händel. An oratorio which narrates birth, death, and resurrection, the work healed and redeemed its author to the point that he was granted a new and glorious creative life. The Christmas packaging which it has received and the universal fame of some of its music has perhaps distorted our perception of the work. The time has arrived to recoup the vision of the piece as a whole. To give it a new opportunity.

In 2025 the Orquesta Barroca de Sevilla (Baroque Orchestra of Seville) celebrated it first 30 years dedicated to the research and diffusion of a repertoire which has gradually passed into the hands of specialists. Leading the ensemble have been some of the most important names of Historically Informed Performance (HIP) such Leonhardt, Kuijken, Onofri, Bolton and a long etc… These conductors have elevated the orchestra’s level and consolidated a sound which is both recognizable and versatile. The Conductus Ensemble takes on the demanding role of the chorus. Andreas Spering, one of the most accurate hands in conveying the Baroque aesthetic, conducts. The perfect opportunity to rediscover this enormous musical fresco where joy, compassion, consolation and tenderness co-exist.
