The Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir is often mentioned in the same breath as the works of Arvo Pärt and other Baltic composers. Just recently, the ensemble shone in a concert honoring the 90-year-old Pärt. This time, the choir presents a different side of itself, with gems from the Western choral repertoire: Frank Martin’s magnificent Mass for Double Choir and Luciano Berio’s virtuosic Cries of London. Of course, Arvo Pärt and his Baltic colleagues are not missing from this program.
