Darkness and light meet when the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra plays Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Wilhelm Stenhammar with Eva Ollikainen on the podium and Rudolf Buchbinder as soloist. Mozart's dramatic Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor contains both stormy nerves and quiet reflection, from the restlessness of the first movement to the clarity of the famous romanza. After the break, Wilhelm Stenhammar's first symphony expands on a grand scale: a generous, romantically coloured orchestral world where Nordic lyricism and glowing energy drift towards a final outlet of heat.
