The programme includes Rachmaninov’s emotional, goosebump‑inducing masterpiece All‑Night Vigil and Elgar’s much‑loved early work, Serenade for Strings. In contrast, the atmosphere shifts with Villa‑Lobos’ rousing first Bachianas brasileiras – roughly translating as ‘Bach‑inspired Brazilian pieces.’
