Peregrine Orchestra, one of London's premier amateur orchestras, join forces with Peregrine Voices once more to perform some of Britain's best-loved choral and orchestral music, in the wonderful space of St. Augustine's Church, Kilburn. Choral classics, such as Parry's triumphant coronation anthem "I was Glad", and his glorious setting of John Milton's ode "Blest Pair of Sirens", sit alongside choral works from the Renaissance (Byrd - "Sing Joyfully"), and the orchestral music of Ralph Vaughan-Williams ("Fantasia on a theme of Thomas Tallis"; "Symphony no. 5 in D major"): a delightful evening of some of the finest music written on these shores. The concert is directed by Artistic Director Daniel Collins, a member of the internationally-renowned vocal ensemble The Sixteen.
Doors open at 5:30pm. There will be a bar for use before and after the concert, and during the interval. Tickets are also available on the door. Do join us for this evening of sublime home-grown music.
