The harpsichordists of the CNSMD invite you to spend an hour in the company of the composers who brought glory to the English keyboard school from the end of the 16th century. This famous school of "virginalists" died out in the mid-17th century, bringing genres like Pavan & Galiard and Fantasy to their highest peak. Mathew Locke and Henry Purcell adopted a less fanciful, more "civilized" style, but their music nevertheless exudes an inimitable charm.
