Blazing with sunset longing and soul-searing ardour, Dvořák’s Cello Concerto is the masterpiece in this gala concert starring one of the world’s most beloved cellists, the legendary Yo-Yo Ma. Spanish conductor Juanjo Mena leads this programme beginning with Nielsen’s exuberant Symphony No. 4, so named for the composer’s goal to express the elemental will to live. Music is Life, and like it, it is Inextinguishable.
