Hailed as one of the most exciting of emerging UK-based chamber ensembles, The Astatine Trio continues to earn plaudits as a BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist and a resident ensemble at the Centre Européen de Musique de Chambre in Paris. It launches its lunchtime programme with the yearning opening of Schumann’s Piano Trio in G minor, a work of fiery contrasts and intense lyricism, before exploring the fluctuating emotions, by turns solemn, joyful and meditative, contained within the second of Beethoven’s Op. 70 Piano Trios.
