BBC's You're Dead To Me Live: Ludwig van Beethoven

The hit comedy podcast that takes history seriously brings a real ode to joy with the BBC Concert Orchestra in a special live episode on the music maestro.

To mark the 200th anniversary of Beethoven’s death, the smash-hit BBC podcast You’re Dead To Me is recording a special live episode, all about the life and works of the superstar composer who transformed the face of classical music.

A key figure in musical history who would go on to influence countless genres, Beethoven was also a child prodigy with a dysfunctional home life, a disillusioned supporter of Napoleon, and a musician who suffered from early hearing loss – and yet carried on composing.

To explore the complex symphony of his life, host Greg Jenner is joined by a brainy historian, a funny comedian and the wonderful BBC Concert Orchestra. This moonlight sonata harmoniously brings together history, comedy and music and promises to be a real ode to joy!
