Chamber Dialogues: Stefan Burchardt & Laura Mota Pello

Discover a new chamber ensemble created especially for the 26th European Music Festival. The accomplished young musicians Stefan Burchardt (violin) from Denmark and pianist Laura Mota Pello from Spain will come together in Sofia for their first joint performance as a duo. Just a year ago, Stefan won Second Prize in the main category, as well as the Grand Prize at the First International Violin Competition “Cantus Firmus.” He began studying violin in Copenhagen and later continued his education at the Berlin University of the Arts and the Conservatory of Music in Lausanne. He is a dedicated chamber musician and has worked with established performers such as Hartmut Rode, Bruno Philipp, Ensemble Midtvest, Ionian Ilias Kadesha, and Alisa Margulis.

Laura Mota Pello is a laureate of the 2024 Geza Anda International Competition (Zurich), where she was awarded the Hortense Anda Scholarship and the Special Hungarian Prize for Artistic Excellence. She is a graduate of the Basel Music Academy, a winner of first prizes at numerous international competitions, and has performed in Spain, Germany, Mexico, and other countries. In 2025, she made a successful guest appearance in the Laureates project with the Cantus Firmus Orchestra.
