For our spring concert we return to Durufle’s Requiem, an atmospheric and deeply reflective work, performed only twice by the Society, latterly in 2012. Also in the programme is Imogen Holst’s Three Psalms. HCS performed the first of these, Psalm 80, ‘Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel‘, in November 2024 to audience delight, so we welcome the opportunity to revisit this with her settings of Psalm 56, ‘Be merciful unto me, O God‘ and Psalm 91, ‘He that dwelleth in the secret place‘.
