Die Wiener „Harmoniemusik“ beginnt nicht erst mit Mozart. Schon Fux hat in seinem „Julo Ascanio“ den Oboen, Fagotten und frühen Klarinetten die herrlichsten Arien geschenkt. Dies zeigen Alfredo Bernardini und seine Kollegen von Zefiro in der Barockoper der styriarte 2018. Zwischendrin gönnen sie sich ein Intermezzo in Schloss Eggenberg: Prager Harmoniemusiken nach Mozarts Opern. „Figaros Hochzeit“ klingt für acht Bläser ebenso vorzüglich wie Mozarts letzte Prager Oper „La clemenza di Tito“. Das Picknick danach darf nicht fehlen, denn „Harmoniemusik“ war immer auch Tafelmusik.
Viennese “Harmoniemusik” did not start with Mozart. Fux had already given the most magnificent arias to the oboes, bassoons and early clarinets in his “Julo Ascanio”. This is what Alfredo Bernardini and his colleagues from Zefiro want to demonstrate in the 2018 styriarte Baroque opera. In between, they treat themselves to an intermezzo at Schloss Eggenberg: namely with “Harmoniemusik” from Prague, based on Mozart’s operas. Played by eight wind musicians, “The Marriage of Figaro” sounds just as excellent as Mozart’s last Prague opera “La clemenza di Tito”. Of course, we will have a picnic after the concert again – after all, “Harmoniemusik” has always been music for feasts as well.
