Phaedra Ensemble: The Music of Meredith Monk

Phaedra Ensemble launches their debut album, Realms, with a complete live performance featuring the instrumental works of Meredith Monk, one of the most influential and distinctive musical voices of our time.

Phaedra Ensemble returns to Kings Place with their signature versatility and dynamism to celebrate the launch of their debut album, Realms, released in September 2026 on the acclaimed New York label Cantaloupe Music. Created in close collaboration with Meredith Monk herself, the album reveals the depth of her instrumental writing and showcases one of the most distinctive musical voices of our time.

Spanning works for string quartet and mixed ensemble, and featuring voices alongside instruments, Realms explores Monk’s unique ability to blur the boundaries between voice and instrument. Performed by an expanded Phaedra Ensemble alongside guest vocal artists, this special launch concert presents the album as a single immersive live experience, celebrating one of contemporary music’s most visionary and influential artistic voices.
